Where have I been?

Hello everyone!

I know posts have been very very scattered lately and I haven’t been posting as much, but there’s been a very good reason for that!

This past year has been absolutely crazy. I’ll probably go into more detail about this past year later, but I’d love to talk about what I’m doing right now!

I’m currently working at a camp called Mountain T.O.P. located in Tennessee. This is my second summer working here, and honestly it’s been a blast.

Basically what this camp does is we have churches from all over the country come stay here for a week, and we send them out to work with families to do minor home repair projects with them. This could include minor construction, painting, yard work, etc.

Notice that I said we work with families, not for families. Mountain T.O.P.  is a partnership ministry, which means that instead of just doing charity work for the families, we ask them to provide something for us in return. This could include the supplies for the project, a financial donation, or simply a lunch for the group of campers that come out to work.

My job as Program Manager of my staff is to plan all of the events that happen within camp. When the campers come back from working, we all spend time to worship together in the evenings, and it’s my job to facilitate those worships. Other staff members will sing, give a short message (basically a short sermon), etc.

I also do a lot of behind the scenes work, such as preparing for the camp week and making sure other staff members are prepared.

This summer has been an absolute blast and it is so exciting for me to be able to spend my summer doing work for God.
