Finding the best cappuccino in Italy

Hey everyone!

I recently had the opportunity to spend an entire week in Italy. Now, Italy is known for some very delicious foods, including pasta, gelato, and pizza, all of which I got to try (and can confidently say that they were AMAZING). But Italy is also known for having some amazing coffee!

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I am an avid coffee drinker. Although, I’m not quite cut out for the famous Italian espresso life (MUCH too bitter for me!) So, I opted for a good ol’ cappuccino instead, and let me tell you, Italy has some of the best cappuccinos! So I wanted to share with you my opinions on each caffeinated goodness I had this week, and let you know which was my favorite!

5. So my least favorite of the week was at the Tabaccheria San Prospero in Sienna, Italy. Not to say it wasn’t good, but it was pretty sub par. Too much foam, didn’t taste like much, and it was kinda lukewarm when I got it. Plus, it was one of the more pricey drinks of the week (it was honestly like €2.50 but still!)

4. Next up we have the Moka Cafe in San Gimignano! Now the Moka Cafe is actually a chain I believe, as I saw several of them throughout Italy. But, ya girl needed some caffeine before she got on the train that day! Now one thing I really liked about this place was that you could order a mega cappuccino, which is basically the size of coffee that you would normally get in the states, and it was pretty well priced, too! It wasn’t the best one of the week, pretty much just your average cappuccino, but I definitely had to give them points for over-fueling my addiction.

3. Now these next three actually came pretty close within each other, and I would highly recommend all of them! L’ifficina Ferrucci (don’t even ask me how to pronounce this) in Florence was definitely one of the better contesters! I had actually heard a lot of good things about this one from some of my friends,  and they weren’t lying! It was very flavorful and absolutely delicious. It had just the right amount of foam, and was very warm when it came out. And, if I remember correctly, it was only about €1.50-€2.00!

2. Panella in Rome was definitely one of my favorites of the week! In fact, I actually had two cappuccinos from this cafe! Now, I’m not judging the actual cafes for any of these, but honestly, this place just had a vibe to it that I loved! About the actual coffee, it was so yummy! Definitely very warm when it came out, almost too hot to drink (unlike anywhere else I had gone this week).

1. And finally, the winner on our list, Mo’ Si Caffetteria Alla Vecchia Maniera in Florence! Now I’ll have to admit, this cappuccino was my favorite mainly because it had something that no one else did. This one had yummy cocoa powder and chocolate syrup on top! YUM! I was so excited to have a cappuccino that was different from all the others I had. Plus, this cafe has a cute little dog named Mina who was absolutely precious.

If you ever get the chance to visit Italy I hope you get a chance to visit one of these places! And let me know your thoughts on them or if I missed a really good cappuccino place!

Ciao!
