My top 5 go-to songs

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

This past week, I’ve been listening to a lot of music. On the way to and from work, at home, pretty much whenever I get the chance. Music is one of my ways of not only de-stressing, but it also helps me set the tone for the day at times.

This week, I wanted to share my current favorite songs that I’ve been listening to (pretty much on repeat). Maybe you’ve heard of them, or maybe this will help you discover some new favorites. Either way, let’s jump into it!

1. Saturday – Twenty One Pilots
This song is an absolute BOP! Anytime this song comes on, my mood immediately lifts. It’s upbeat, and next to impossible not to dance to. Seriously!
One of my friends actually showed me this song. She’s a huge fan of Twenty One Pilots, and this song was a part of their latest album. If you haven’t given it a listen, I highly encourage you to do so!

2. good 4 u – Olivia Rodrigo
Anyone who’s been paying any attention to social media (especially TikTok) will know this song, as it’s been everywhere lately! While normally I’m guilty of not staying up to date on current hits, I couldn’t help but jump on the bandwagon with this one. It’s just so good!
Olivia Rodrigo is a fairly new artist, her first album coming out just over 2 months ago. She’s already dominating the music industry, with a few of her songs reaching top 10 charts worldwide.
This song is one that is pretty much constantly stuck in my head. It’s energetic, fun to sing to, and is overall just a fantastic song to jam to in the car.

3. Shut Up and Dance – WALK THE MOON
This song has crept it’s way back into my go-to playlist lately. I remember jamming out to this song back in high school, but I’ve recently rediscovered it and listen to it all the time nowadays.
You may be noticing a trend in the songs I’ve picked so far–they’re all upbeat and fun! Just like the others, I love to turn on this song and just sing it as loud as I can (when I’m by myself of course). This song is impossible to listen to and not dance and clap along with.

4. Fade Away (ft. INNA) – Sam Feldt
This is actually a song that I recently discovered just by chance. I was at work, and this song just started playing in the lobby. Now, I don’t often listen to a song for the first time and immediately add it to my playlist. But this song, I just couldn’t help but look it up immediately!
Every review I’ve seen of this song describes it as the feeling of summer, and I can’t disagree with them.
I’d also say that out of all the songs on this playlist, this one is the one that gives off “dancing” vibes the most. I’d also say that out of all the songs listed, I sing along to this one the least. I mean, of course I sing along with it, but I listen to this one more for the actual music itself rather than the lyrics.

5. You Belong With Me (Taylor’s Version)
You should’ve seen how excited I got when I heard that Taylor Swift was rereleasing some of her older music. My little 14/15 year old self was this biggest fan of Taylor Swift, so when she announced that she had rerecorded some of the songs I had grown up listening to, I was over the moon. There’s a long story of why Taylor rerecorded some of her older music, so I highly encourage you to read this article to learn more about it.
You Belong With Me is just another one of those songs that’s great to listen to in the car, volume turned up, and of course singing along with it at the top of your lungs. Plus, it’s a throwback to what I listened to as a teenager, so there’s the nostalgia factor as well.

And there you have it! Of course, my favorite songs rotate in and out depending on my mood and where I’m at in life. But I wanted to share a few of my current favorites. Who knows? Maybe I’ll do an updated list down the line as new songs come out and as my music taste changes!

I’m always searching for new song recommendations, so I’d love to hear some of your favorites as well! Feel free to share them! Otherwise, have a great weekend, and I’ll see y’all next week!
