My top 5 favorite places in Nashville

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all having a fantastic week so far! I know I am!

I’ve lived in Nashville for about 5 years now. Since then, I’ve found a few places in Nashville that I’ve come to love, and try to visit often! These include parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and much more. So today, I wanted to share some of my favorite spots with you!

Now, I am actually not a huge fan of Downtown Nashville, as it can be very busy and difficult to navigate. So, you’ll notice that a lot of these places are actually located outside of the downtown area. They can also be a bit more touristy, so this will be from a bit more of a local perspective!

But, let’s get into it!

  1. Jeni’s Ice Cream
Let me tell you, the first time I had Jeni’s, every other ice cream immediately paled in comparison. Now, Jeni’s is not strictly available in Nashville, but anyone who lives in Nashville knows about it.
They have really unique flavors that separate them from a traditional ice cream shop. Some of my favorites are Gooey Butter Cake and Coffee with Cream & Sugar. They also put a lot of effort into making their ice cream high quality, so it really is some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had!

2. Sam and Zoe’s
This is by far one of my favorite coffee shops out there. Sam and Zoe’s is a local coffee shop located in South Nashville, and has very cozy feel to it.
I’ll often come here to meet with friends or just hang out. I’ve actually done a bit of writing there as well. They also have delicious coffee, and some of my favorite seasonal flavors that I’ve had at any coffee shop (their Honey Lavender Latte is the best). I usually try to bring newcomers to Nashville here, just so they can experience a fantastic local business!

3. Centennial Park
I don’t usually go out to parks, but I actually really do love Centennial park. I will say that this can be a bit of a popular tourist attraction, as the Parthenon is housed here. However, the park itself is actually huge, so it has plenty of space to walk around, and a huge open field for people to relax or set up a picnic.
I’ve come many times to walk around with friends, or just to get out of the house and get a bit of exercise. If you’re looking for a wide open space in Nashville, I highly recommend here!

4. Mas Tacos Por Favor
Now this one is actually one of my favorite taco places out there. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but actually has some fantastic food!
This place is actually cash only, so make sure you bring some with you if you visit!
I usually get the same thing every time: 2-3 fried avocado tacos and a Mexican Coke! It’s a bit of a drive for me, but definitely worth it!

5. Fleet Street Pub
This is one of those few places in Downtown Nashville that I actually love going to! Fleet Street is a pub that actually themed around the UK/London. If you’ve read my past posts, you’d know that I travelled abroad in 2018. This place is a little local reminder of my time abroad, and is one of my all time favorite places to go with friends!
They actually serve British pub-style food, like fish and chips, bangers and mash, and much more. I always get a plate of fish and chips, and their delicious bread pudding for dessert! I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. It’s a smaller pub, a bit hidden so it doesn’t get as much of the touristy traffic, but also has a friendly environment and delicious food!

So now, if you’re ever visiting Nashville, you have a couple places that you can visit while you’re here. In all honesty, this post doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface on the amazing businesses and areas within the city. There is so much to do and see (and eat!).

Maybe in the future I can do another post on some of my other favorite places. Let me know, I’d be more than happy to share!

Also, I’m always looking for recommendations on places to visit. Let me know some of your local Nashville favorites as well!

I hope you have a great rest of the weekend! See you next Friday!
